Civic Action & People Matter With the start of this new project, the topics the groups had to work on were Civic Action and People Matter. This topic goes deep into the lifestyle of daily people and the impact it has on society. Negative or how positive it becomes; in these groups we were able to see the overview of the history of these impacts. The groups were able to choose different subtopics like family, healthcare, environment, education, economy, and immigration . It was another great experience working with the groups again and strengthening my skills. Also , to work with a more understanding of how the groups work and to do better than at the first presentation.   Working in groups for this presentation felt more comfortable and interesting to take on a new challenge. It was not only focusing on the presentation, but it also included interviews, deeper discussions on different countries, agendas, and civic actions. As one of the project managers, it was getti...

Reflection on Presentation #2

This was my second experience as a leader of four groups, and to be honest, it went more smoothly than I expected — at least for most of them. Groups 1, 2, and 4 did an excellent job. They understood the task immediately, divided it among themselves quickly, and worked independently. I barely had to intervene. It was very satisfying to see that everything went so smoothly, without any unnecessary tension. But with group 3, it was different. There were problems from the very beginning. They didn't want to create an agenda, and I had to communicate with each member individually to find out what they planned to do in their part of the presentation. Some of them didn't respond to messages, and it took almost two days before everyone finally understood what was required of them. There were a lot of questions and confusion, but in the end, they came together and delivered a really good presentation. It was a bit tiring, but also rewarding. Managing four groups at once is not easy, e...

It was probably the first time I'd tried my hand at being a kind of leader or coordinator. It wasn't like I had to put in a lot of effort, because each group already had someone in charge of what they were doing. But I was in all four groups at once, and it felt like it added a sense of responsibility, even if I wasn't doing much. I mostly sent reminders in the chat, like "Guys, don't forget about the chapters" or "We're starting soon." Sometimes I provided support and encouragement, which was probably helpful. However, the most challenging part for me was reading all the chapters in the textbook. Not just reading them, but doing so quickly. I actually sat down and literally skimmed through the pages, as I didn't have enough time to fully comprehend them. It was a demanding task, but it was necessary. And so, when the presentations started, they didn't happen all at once, but one by one. Each lesson was dedicated to a single group. We wo...

Public Speaking is Needed! As the world keeps developing, advancing, and growing, the re has been an increase in need for skills and knowledge. Without these important factors many would be out of jobs and experience. One of the most important skills in my opinion is public speaking. SCARY! I believe that each person has the ability to excel in this skill, but it is hard to become confident in it. Many people go years without putting this skill into action because they are scared, do not know what to say, how to do it, etc. All these points are valid and understandable. But in my opinion, it does not excuse the fact that each person should take a class to learn and develop this skill.   As I entered my sophomore year and the time is running out before I graduate, these would be some of last classes I would be taking. I took this class with an open mindset, but I still had my worries. I’m not afraid to speak in public, but I still get the jitters before I speak in fro...
